b- What is Apartheid?
In 1960, there was a huge massacre at Sharpeville . Black South Africans were protesting against passed laws and white policemen killed 69 people freely.
Black south africans were banned from white areas. They were considered as second class ''citizens''.
There were separated from public facilities , transport and schools. Many of them had no rights of citizenship. Black South Africans were reunited into townships ( under-developped urban areas , where people lived with bad conditions).
Where did 1960 huge massacre happen? What was the consequences of that event?
To which aspects of their lives they were considered as ''different''?
What made black South African inferior to white people?
Try to give a definition of what Apartheid Regim was?
It was used to describe the racial segregation policies embraced by the white minority government.
Apartheid (Afrikaans: “apartness”) is the name of the policy that governed relations between the white minority and the nonwhite majority of South Africa during the 20th century.
