This is your device's unique Serial Number. Serial numbers can also be found on the label of your Arlo device. You may refer to this link for more information. The actual serial number of this device can be seen on the bottom.

If you wish your device to reboot, click on Restart. Restarting your device will not affect any settings. However, you might need to manually connect your device to the network. Note: All devices onboarded on a Base Station or SmartHub do not have a restart button available. Devices onboarded using a Wi-Fi connection have a Restart option on their Device Info page.

WARNING: Removing a device from your account erases all modes and settings on that device and resets the device to factory default settings. If you remove a device from your account and later add it back, you must complete the setup process just like you did when you set up your system for the first time.

Most Arlo cameras can record to local storage when synched to an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station. You'll need a USB device inserted into your device to be able to record clips locally. Only automatically triggered recordings are saved locally to the connected USB device. Manual recordings are only saved to the cloud. Go to these links to learn more about local storage Local Storage Settings Base Station/ SmartHub compatibility If there's no USB storage inserted into your device, this page will look like this:

Make sure that Record Locally is toggled on. Click on Local Storage Settings to modify.

Available Storage is updated when detection is recorded. Please see the photo for reference.

Best Local Recording means the local recordings will be made in 2K or 4K. In this case, Pro 4 will be recorded in 2K. Click to toggle on.

By default, the Overwrite Automatically option is enabled in the Local Storage Settings. When enabled, the oldest recordings are automatically deleted when available storage on the USB device is below 20%. Unrelated files that are not in the Arlo folder are not deleted by automatic overwrite.

  • If you do not want old videos to be deleted when your USB device is low on storage space, tap or click the Overwrite Automatically switch to the off position.
  • If automatic overwrite is turned off, the Arlo Secure App notifies you when storage gets low so that you can enable local storage backup on a different USB device.
    • If your local storage device is completely full, and automatic overwrite is turned off, videos are only recorded to the cloud until you turn on automatic overwrite, move recordings from your local storage device, or enable a different local storage device.
  • If you want a second USB device to be used when your first USB device is full, you can follow the same set up steps above to add a second USB device.
    • Only one USB device can be enabled at a time.

To view recordings, your mobile device must be connected to the same network as your SmartHub/Base Station. Click to turn on.

To access recordings when outside the home network, Arlo recommends configuring a VPN on your router and mobile device to establish a secure connection to your SmartHub. Please consult your router manufacturer for specific configuration details. You can also enable Port Forwarding as an alternative to using a secure VPN to access your storage recordings in the Arlo Secure App. Note: To enable Port Forwarding, you might need to contact your Internet service provider (ISP) to request permission for traffic to be allowed through the external port that is defined by the Arlo Secure App. To learn more about Port Forwarding, you may refer to this link.

You can safely eject your local storage by tapping or clicking Safely Eject Local Storage. Remove your local storage device once prompted in the Arlo Secure App.

You can format your storage device by tapping or clicking Format at the bottom of the Local Storage Settings screen. This will delete all files in your USB device and format them for local video storage. WARNING: Tapping Format USB Device erases all data from the device. If you want to keep any files that are on the USB device, copy those files to another location before you format the USB device. Do not use the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station to format storage devices with more than 2 TB of storage capacity. The formatting process reduces the capacity of larger storage devices to a maximum of 2 TB. Do not remove the USB device while it is formatting. The USB device might become permanently unusable.

Since you have enabled Direct Storage Access, your Arlo recordings appear in the Library on the Arlo Secure App. Your recordings will not contain a thumbnail because they are not saved to the Arlo cloud. Direct Storage Access allows you to view the last 30 days of videos in the Arlo Library. If you want to view videos older than 30 days, you must connect your USB or microSD device to a PC or Mac.
