Welcome to the ScioCamp House Sorting Quiz! As we near the start of ScioCamp, this fun game-style quiz will show you which of the houses you most fit into. There are 3 houses for Division I-- The Resilient Wood Frogs, Courageous Tiger Shrimps, and the Resourceful Scaly-Foot Gastropods. For Division II, there are 4-- The Determined Portuguese Man-of-Wars, the Innovative Barbeled Dragonfish, the Observant Frilled Sharks, and the Flexible Echidnas. Each of the houses are characterized by their strong, contrasting personalities and competitive nature. Take the quiz to see which house you belong to, and get excited for ScioCamp!

Welcome to the House of Resilience! Our mascot is the Wood Frog. As the only frog to exist north of the arctic, it needs to have some tricks up its sleeves. During the winter, the frog stops its heart and allows ice crystals to form in its blood, freezing the entire body as it sleeps through hibernation. We are likewise stubborn, refusing to yield and bracing ourselves through even the toughest of conditions. People tend to see us as persistent and rude, but our hearts are soft and it's only a matter of time before our victory!

RESILIENCE:WOOD FROG

Welcome to the House of Courage! Our mascot, the Tiger Pistol Shrimp, is known for it's unique hunting mechanism, using it's claw to shoot an air projectile at a speed of up to 62 mph. This temporary bullet reaches the temperature of the sun and is louder than a jet engine in the split second it's released, immediately knocking out prey and predators alike. We're confident and cool, extroverted and tough. With an ambitious nature and unquenchable desire for perfection, the ScioCamp championship will no doubt fall before the House of Courage!

Welcome to the House! Our mascot of the Scaly-Foot Gastropod may seem like a strange choice, but don't let it's small size fool you. It's shell is impenetrable, a shield created by absorbing the ions in the water to convert it's own flesh into metal. We never let conventional thinking restrain us, always able to find an outside-of-the-box solution for what seem to be impossible problems. In sticky situations, we think on our feet and craft clever yet simple ways to resolve issues. As the usually overlooked bunch, we can sneak up on the other houses before they know it! The championship shall be ours!

Welcome to the House! Our mascot is the Portugese Man of War. While it may look like a simple Jellyfish, it more accurately belongs to the Siphonophore family. It is not even a singular organism, but rather a group of four functioning and existing as one. Its tentacle-like appendages hold enough venom to kill fish with a single sting. This house works together with seamless cooperation as a single, cohesive unit. We work great with others and can be both extroverted and introverted, depending on the day. As the perfect Goldlocks mix of good and evil, the championship is sure to be ours!

Welcome to the House of Innovation! The Barbeled Dragonfish is an apex predator, able to emit red light in the deep sea to hunt for prey. In fact, most marine animals aren't able to percieve this red light, turning the hunt into an easy win for the dragonfish. The members of this house are likewise innovative, taking novel paths imperciptible to others in order to easily reach our goals. To others, we're the weird, crazy standouts, but our quick wits and crafty plots are sure to outsmart them all. The championship is ours!

Welcome to the House! Our mascot is the Frilled Shark. Nothing is able to get past this hunter. A lateral line of hairs line the body, meaning even the slightest change in the surrounding water will be immediately noticed. Just like our mascot, we are observant and cautious, we notice things most people don't and are able to capitalize on it. To most, we're the "quiet kids", but behind our poker faces are miles of personality and clever strategies! With the unpredictability that comes with the new ScioCamp competition system this year, nothing will be able to escape our senses as we claim our victory!

Welcome to the House! Our mascot is the Echidna. Although perhaps the cutest mascot of all the houses, don't let its appearance fool you. With thousands of electroreceptors to detect environmental changes, a spiny defense, and a body suitable for both land and water, the Echidna has mastered survival. Just like our mascot, our house may not seem particularly strong or frightening, but we have a variety of talents that allow us to adapt to whatever the challenge is. As the friendly, outgoing socializers, people tend to underestimate our ability to think on our feet. Cute and unassuming, we'll be quietly snatching the win.
