Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle is a Royal residence on the outskirts of London.
DID YOU KNOW? For the duration of the Second World War, Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and her sister, Princess Margaret, moved into Windsor Castle.
Windsor Castle is the largest occupied castle in the world. It was used by Queen Elizabeth II as a weekend home and also as an official Royal residence where she fulfilled some of her duties.
The castle is still used for hosting visitors and holding state banquets in St George’s Hall. The annual Order of the Garter Ceremony also takes place at Windsor Castle.
