How does the land help produce rice?
Being located near a river helps cut down on the costs of flooding the fields. It also can help with transportation.
Rice needs to be flooded by about two to four inches of water during the growing season. This helps fields not wash away and leads to longer-lasting farms.
Rice grows well in clay soil since it holds water.
Flat land is better for growing rice because the water levels can be balanced easier.
