Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities

Group Benefits Programs

  • responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, 401-k and all other employee related plans)
  • distributes and processes information for employee benefits

Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities

Worker's Compensation

  • monitors operations compliance to company policies
  • reports workers compensation claims, collaborate with OSHA 300 log and Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illness
  • create and review HR report as requested by the VP of HR
  • communicate with WC adjusters/WC coordinators to answer questions, concerns, or updates on cases

  • gather information to submit claims to insurance company
  • keeps internal workers compensation log up to date with status of each case
  • collaborates with others to anticipate and control occupational health risks and meet OSHA regulatory and governance requirements
  • identifies trends and areas needing improvement, works with Safety Coordinator to address
  • collaborate with others and OSHA related reporting
  • responds to injuries related to employee injuries, workers compensation, and OSHA

  • understands laws and regulations, concludes appropriate course of action, and submits solutions to resolve claims
  • has thorough understanding and knowledge to support Disability Management, Workers' Compensation, and the Human Resources Generalist's efforts in ADA, FMLA, return-to-work, and other medical issues
  • administers claims and collaborates with others on audits, compiling statistics, and preparing reports
  • works and communicates with employees, managers, insurance carriers, WCCA, medical personnel and attorneys
  • process, distribute 1095-C to all employees
  • process Health Medical Support Orders
  • work with EEC team to roll out wellness activities for office and field managers
  • complete special projects when assigned
  • answer phone calls as needed
  • processes monthly billing and coding for benefits
  • enrolls and terminates benefit coverage for employees
  • processes COBRA when benefits are terminated
  • collaborates with HR VP in coordinating the annual open enrollment
  • process the annual update of insurance benefits in WinTeam
  • process the Open enrollment changes in WinTeam
  • maintains and distributes approved healthcare facilities list for locations where company does business
  • coaches managers on following the correct process for investigating and reporting accidents and injuries
  • distributes, follows up, and processes all employee benefits
  • collaborates with process of Vehicle Accident

  • review and update existing policies, procedures, and back up plans to prepare for additional work based on company growth by Q2
  • continue to refine processes needed for healthcare reform including offering health coverage to all full time employees, determine which variable hour employees should be offered coverage monthly, and produce employee specific reporting
  • participate in training initiatives as required / yearly
