1. Cut black paper into 4" by 4"
2. Draw shapes on black paper (all shapes must touch the edges)
3. Cut out shapes neatly
4. Glue "square" onto white paper
5. Place shapes back inside like a puzzle
6. Flip shapes to create positive & negative space
7. Glue down flipped shapes

1. Seperate canvas into 4 different sections
2. Draw the same small item 4 different times from different angles
3. Paint each section a complementary color pair using acrylic paint
4. You can add black and white or tints, tones, and shades

HOW TO DO UNIT 2 PROJECT

Day 1:1. Cut piece of cardboard down to 4" x7" 2. Collect "found items" (found items are small items or recycled items you can use to create art) 3. Glue found items to cardboard using liquid glue 4. Let dry Day 2: 1. Cut 2 piece of white paper in half to create 4 small pieces of paper 2. Paint white paper with water 3. Paint cardboard stamp with acrylic paint 4. Stamp on piece of wet paper 5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 4 times to create 4 prints 6. Let dry Day 3. 1. Label prints in format..."Name, Title, Edition number (1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4)" 2. Pick favorite print 3. Draw on it with sharpie or black pen

Unit 4 Project

Day 1: Drawing your face 1. Draw an upside down egg for the head 2. Draw neck & shoulders 3 Draw guidelines 3. Draw facial feature lines (seen in video) 5. Draw hair shapes Day 2: Painting or Coloring 1. Paint background in a post-impressionist style 2. Mix overall skin tone color 3. Paint skin 4. Paint eyes, nose, & mouth 5. Paint hair and detailswith small brush.

1. Draw a large X connecting the corners of the paper
2. Make a dot where the two lines connect (this will be your vanishing point)
3. Draw a rectangle around the X (this will be your back wall)
4. Draw one point perspective furniture by having all lines connect back to the vanishing point
5. Add a surrealist element
6. Color using colored pencils
7. *Optional* outline with a black marker
