Orla Kiely- an "internationally celebrated" designer
The early life and inspirations of Orla
In the latter stages of the 1960s and early 1970s, Orla was being raised in Ireland. Acquiring a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art in 1992, she created a brand that embodied the desire for security in times of instability. Her creations were influenced by the cheerful styles of the 1960s and 1970s as well as the buoyant designs characterised by financial revival and youthful exploration.
