The story of the trickster often represents society's fears and failures. The main character (or trickster themself) encounters a situation where they respond poorly and meet a ludicrous or violent end. The character often teaches us vital skills or life lessons with humor.
These characters are always in the wrong place at the wrong time or have the worst luck but usually win something of value in the end. Neville Longbottom is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Throughout the series, Neville is a bumbling and disorganized character and a mediocre student. However, he is highly gifted at Herbology. Neville is instrumental in the downfall of Lord Voldemort. Eventually, he destroys the final Horcrux, which allows Harry to defeat The Dark Lord once and for all.
