In most of his literary works it was midnight or late at night.

Edgar Allan Poe was a known poet and writer in the 18 hundreds. Most of the time he was alone. But he was married to his cousine which he apparently loved and mentioned in some of his work.

In "The Raven" he explains his wife Lenore as an angelic creature. He also mentions, how much he misses her and that he is doomed to be apart from her.
