What was the USSJohnston?

The USS Johnston was a Fletcher class destroyer. She was built during World War 2 and was 115m long.

When did she sink?

She was launched on 25th of March 1943 and sank 25 October 1944. She was found 2019 but properly discovered March 2021.

FUN FACT

- she is lying 20,000 feet (6,100m) deep in the ocean, making it the deepest shipwreck ever surveyed!

She sank October 1944 in the battle of Samar

in the Seattle-Tacoma Shipbuilding Corporation

She was launched March25. 1943

Launched in Seattle,went all the way to the Phillipines where she then sank.
