she is an Australian athlete who specializes in the 400m.she was born on the 16 february 1973 in Slade Point in Australia.she is an olympic champion and double word champion.she has one daughter.she is the granddaughter of a victim of "stolen generation".

she lit the olympic flame, she was choose because the Australian government wanted to reconcile the children of european emigration and the aboriginal.during the lap of honour for her victory, she carried aboriginal's flag and the australian's flag even if that was forbidden, because she wanted to show how she loved her two origines.so she became the first athlete who lit the olympic flame and won a gold medal in the same olympic games.

during the Olympic Summer Games she became the first aboriginal woman who won an individual medal.in 1999 she became the favorite athlete of the Olympic games of Sydney.

in 2001 she taked a break, one year later, in 2002 she came back with difficulty, because her husband had a cancer.in 2003 she retired herself from competions.she is still the member of a club, and she created a fondation who helps aboriginals children to access at a good education.
