The main reason for this issue is because she lacks sufficient, size-suitable storage box to store them. Sabina also emphasizes a lot on aesthetics. Possible solution: Multifunctional storage platform

Sabina is an extreme art enthusiast that is currently in high school. Her room is filled with art supplies like paint canvas, paint brushes, paint, crayons and colour pencils. This has caused the organisation of her desk and floor to be very messy. When she returns home from school, it has caused annoyance for her as she have to pick up the equipments and put them in place.

The chair itself does not have a neck support when he lays his head down which makes him feel very uncomfortable during his work and leisure hours. Possible solution: On-desk standing table

Ken, my dad, is a workaholic. During he return back to Malaysia from China, he had to stay in his room to quarantine and carry out meetings from across the continent 24/7. An obvious concern I have noticed is that he has been developing neck aches from sitting in front of the computer too long.

Chew Yi is a 15 year old music prodigy in Prince of Wales Island International School. She has a lot of thin music books which she frequently needs to use but has no appropriate storage space to place them as the width is way too narrow to stand. It is a real struggle when she needs to find them as she can only stack those books together. This has also made her desk look messy as there are pencils, books and paper scatter around.

FINAL DECISION

After consideration, I have decided to proceed to further develop a design concept in response to Sabina's problem. This is because there are plenty of possibilities I could go along to innovate existing products and complementing them by adding functions more than holding paintbrushes like holding headphones, phone and many more.

Design Brief

BRIEF- Designing and manufacturing innovative products that could potentially increase standard of living for people in their daily lives, mainly focusing on storaging equipments/ furnitures.

CONTEXT- As the year of 2022-2023 arrives, a whole new evolution takes place. Innovation is a real challenge for design engineers to make an impact on people's lives. During this period of time where the pandemic and globalisation occur at the same step, various opportunities and challenges has emerged.

The people I am interviewing are particularly those who take IGSCE Art or is passionate in art who are in range of 14-18 years old. I have prepared a total of 12 questions in order the fulfil the needs and requirements of target market. The design of the product can then appeal to as many people similar to my client as possible.
