ERASMUS+ KA2 Climate Change is Here

This project reflects our concern about the consequences of Climate Change and the resulting problems for cultural heritage - one of the less understood and studied aspects of climate change. We consider that one of the best ways to minimize the risks that threaten cultural heritage is to educate/reinforce the feeling of appropriation of these goods by the population and that can start in schools in order to raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of heritage in our culture and identity and the need for its protection and conservation. We must take decisions, with our students, about the future to protect the environment, the landscapes, but also our patrimonial heritage. Above all, this project is a call to action. The questions that support our project are:-What do we have to think/reflect together in terms of risks concerning Climate Change?-How can we mitigate the impact of natural disasters/Climate Change?-What does Climate Change mean on the ground?-What do we have to think about in terms of heritage and Climate Change?-How can we preserve heritage for the next generations? QUESTION 01

What is climate change?

It is a long-term change in the weather of a region

It is a long-term change in the average weather patterns

It is a long-term change in the atmosphere

How does climate change affect polar bears?

It causes the ice that polar bears depend on melt away

It causes polar bears to get hot

There is more land for them to hunt their prey

QUESTION 02

DID YOU KNOW? Polar bears depend on sea ice to travel, hunt seals, and find mates. As sea-ice decreases, many will be forced to travel further for food and spend more time on land. ... We could lose more than 30% of the world's polar bears by 2050 if we don't urgently tackle climate change.

QUESTION 03

Which are consequences of climate change?

The ice in polar regions is becoming more acidic

Global sea levels are rising

Both the ice and sea levels are affected

A warming climate can cause seawater to expand and ice over land to melt, both of which can cause a rise in sea level. ... First, as the oceans warm due to an increasing global temperature, seawater expands—taking up more space in the ocean basin and causing a rise in water level.
