1) OBTAIN THE EORI NUMBER

The Economic Operator Registration and Identification Number is indispensable in all customs procedures when exchanging information with customs administrations, whether based in the UK or in the EU.

The format of the EORI number is divided into two parts: - Country code of the issuing Member State - Code or number unique within the Member State

Persons established in the customs territory of the EU must apply for the assignment of an EORI number to the customs authorities of the EU country in which they are established.

How to apply?

4) DETERMINE THE VALUE OF YOUR ASSETS

It is issued by the customs agent or the Authorized Economic Operator AEO. It must be completed on two sheets DV1 and DV1 bis. The main purpose of this requirement is to establish the value of the transaction to set the customs value (tax base) on which the customs duties are applied.

The DV1 is a document that accompanies the DUA Single Administrative Document and serves for the importer to declare all the elements that will serve as the basis for calculating the customs value of the merchandise dispatched and the application of the corresponding duties.

6) ESTABLISH THE ORIGIN OF THE GOODS

How to get it? The certificate of origin is issued by the Chambers of Commerce and is valid indefinitely. However, the customs authorities of destination may require reworking of the certificate in the event that the issuance of the certificate and the merchandise is delayed.

The certificate of origin consists of a formal document whose function is to determine the country in which the merchandise has been manufactured.
