Trinidad and Tobago

Building a Nation

Our country, Trinidad and Tobago was granted its independence from the British government on 31st August 1962.

In 1976, our nation became a Republic. That meant not only were we now independent from Britain, but we now had our very own Head of State, a President.

National emblems of Trinidad and Tobago are the symbols that are used in Trinidad and Tobago and abroad to represent the country and its people.
