To be able to make a comparative sentence we need to have two or more things to compare. They can be people, living things or objects.

How do we form a comparative sentence?

To make comparative sentences we need to use ADJECTIVES. But in comparative sentences adjectives will en with -er . Or if the adjective has 3 or more syllables we will add the word more in front of the adjective. We also need to use the word than.

Let's take a closer look at the short adjectives

short adjectives

double consonant -er

-r

-ier

-er

If the short adjective finishes in y, we change the y for an i and add er

If the adjective only has one syllable and ir ends in a vowel followed by a consonant, we double the consonant and add er

If the short adjective already finishes in -e
