GOALS

Exposing students to real problems in an international context, allowing the development of skills, promoting diversity, inclusion, and appreciation for other cultures and their own, with special emphasis on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Opportunity to generate internationalization experiences with meaningful learning, linking the student to a multicultural environment.

Promote collaborative work in a digital environment, use of technological tools to connect students.

Global Shared Learning: Classroom

GSL Classroom takes place within the context of each of the courses, concentrating efforts on interaction and skills development to form global citizens and contribute to the sustainable development agenda. The duration of the experience can be extended throughout the course or applied to a specific module or topic with a minimum duration of four weeks. The model provides progressive support for up to four implementations, guiding the instructor in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to later independently promote internationalization experiences in their courses.

What's COIL Methodology?

This GSL Classroom experience is based on COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), a teaching and learning methodology developed by Jon Rubin at the State University of New York (SUNY). COIL combines the four essential dimensions of virtual mobility: it is a collaborative exercise between professors and students; makes use of technology and online interaction; it has potential international dimensions; and integrated into the learning process.

GUIDELINES

• Have the authorization of the Vice Rectory for International Affairs.
• Include joint design of activities by the professors of each participating institution.
• Incorporate the activities into a course in both institutions.
• Integrate the COIL Methodology (Collaborative Online International Learning).
• Integrate at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations.
• Have a minimum length of 4 weeks with at least 12 hours of total work, of which at least 2 hours of synchronous work is recommended.
• Have an impact of at least 10% on the final grade of the Tec course of which it is part.
• The participation of students is part of the course.
• Include work in multicultural teams.
