Skill Based Approach
Support educatioal staff in turning their curriculum into a Skill Based Approach based on the model developped throughout the University of Poitiers
Skill Based Approach (SBA) stands for a teaching season assessment educational process. It is based on the consideration of the skills the students build during their studies.
Development of an institution scale construction and transformation process to turn Bachelor degrees into a Skill Based Approach based on the 2018 Bachelor degree decree criterias.
The Pédagolab, along with the Trainings Head Unit, is in charge of the process design and of staff support

The skills based approach enables students to :
- give meaning to the knowledge they acquire
- gain a clearer understanding of the skills they are developing, so that they can then use them either for professional integration or for further study (cf. bachelor's degree decree of 2018).
The skills based approach enables teaching teams to :
- define and share a common vision of the graduate and the training program
- reinforce coherence between objectives, assessment and teaching methods, and
- improve the image, quality and attractiveness of the university degree for which they are responsible.
Objectives of the training process
- Design a teaching and educational activities that foster every student's learning and curriculum skills acquisition
- Implement a teaching that lean on tools, including digital ones, and on engaging educational techniques facilitation
- Assess students' learning outcomes and quality of teaching
- Get a reflexive position on teaching implementation
2 main pedagogical aims:
- Practice written and spoken langauage
- Contribute to the memorization of historical events
- Creation of a "Timeline" type card game
The choice of the "Time line game":
- Requieres the use of the langage
- Contribute ina playful way to the identification of key events and the understaning of the issues at stake in different time periods
Course : 19th-century French literature (Mrs. NEAU)Students : 1st year Bachelors' Degree Literature and Political Science (35 students) Teachers' request: to draw up a true investigation and defense of Stendhal's character, accused of having fired two revolver shots at his former lover, Madame de Rênal. The trial took place in an amphitheater, before a jury of faculty academics and students from other classes, and after meticulous preparation in class.

The skills based approach enables students to :
- give meaning to the knowledge they acquire
- gain a clearer understanding of the skills they are developing, so that they can then use them either for professional integration or for further study (cf. bachelor's degree decree of 2018).

The choice of the "Time line game":
Course : 19th-century French literature (Mrs. NEAU)Students : 1st year Bachelors' Degree Literature and Political Science (35 students) Teachers' request: to draw up a true investigation and defense of Stendhal's character, accused of having fired two revolver shots at his former lover, Madame de Rênal. The trial took place in an amphitheater, before a jury of faculty academics and students from other classes, and after meticulous preparation in class.
