This year’s theme, Responding to a Changing World, comes at a significant moment for Citizenship education. As curriculum reform progresses and the role of Citizenship grows across primary and secondary education, there is a renewed opportunity to ensure every young person develops the knowledge, skills and confidence to participate in our democracy and society. We are grateful to our members, partners and supporters for their continued commitment to this mission, and to AQA for sponsoring this year’s conference. Special thanks also to the V&A for hosting us today. Liz Moorse, Chief Executive Association for Citizenship Teaching

Since 1903, AQA has been rewarding achievement by designing and delivering fair and inclusive assessment. It does this because quality assessment is an essential ingredient for a good education. AQA set and mark the papers for around half of all GCSEs and A-levels, but they are more than an exam board. As an independent education charity it reinvests all of its income. From funding cutting-edge research, to supporting new insights that help raise the bar in assessment practice internationally, it is always focused on fair and inclusive assessment and the positive impact it has on teaching, learning and society. Find out more: aqa.org.uk

We are grateful to the V&A for their generous support in hosting us today.
