Positive Behavior Reinforcement

If a child were misbehaving, try to convince the child to behave by using these tactics:

  1. Try to communicate with the child, maybe there is something on their mind they need to talk about
  1. Make things fun for the child, say they refused to do their chores, make it into a challenge, like telling the kid “I bet you couldn’t make your bed in a minute”, after that you could tell them “Ok, good. Now I bet you couldn’t pick your toys up off the ground in 3 minutes.” that might convince the child to do what their parents asked them to do
  1. Reward the child. Here’s an example, let’s say the kid you were babysitting cleaned off their plate without being asked, or they had their room clean for the parents. You could reward the child for good behavior and make them feel good about themselves
