We watched a video of Bye, Penguin! by Seou Lee, discussed its messages, brainstormed ideas, and concluded that climate change is the reason the penguin becomes separated from its home.
To better understand climate change, we carried out a STEM experiment demonstrating the destructive effects of acid rain. After the experiment, we discussed our findings, drew conclusions, and explored ways to reduce its impact.
We then moved on to our next collaborative task, The Penguin’s Travel Map. We explored the penguin’s different stops on the map, viewed photos, and read messages from other participants. Our assigned locations were Antarctica and Australia. We selected photos and videos from the internet to upload, wrote our own messages, and pinned our locations on the map.
We viewed photos and videos to learn more about Antarctica and the threats it faces from climate change. We also completed a worksheet where we recorded and organized the information we gathered.
