The Olympics are an international sporting event open to athletes from around the world. The Paralympics, on the other hand, are the same, but reserved for athletes with physical, sensory, or intellectual disabilities, like people without limbs or with autism. Both are divided into summer and winter editions, which are held every 4 years.
The Paralympic Flag
The Paralympic symbol is called Agitos, "I move." It is created in three colors: red, blue, and green, and represents body, mind, and spirit. Introduced in 2004, it symbolizes determination, endurance, and integration.
Oksana Masters
The best Paralympic athlete ever
Born in Chernobyl in 1989, she was exposed to radiation and suffered physical deformities in her limbs. She was abandoned by her parents and taken to a Ukrainian orphanage.At age 7, she was adopted by Gay Masters, who took her to America, where she getmany surgeries, including amputation of her legs. Oksana learned to move with prosthetics, imagining a future filled with hope.

The book had been written with Cassidy Randall. Published in February 2023. The biography tells the incredible story of her life, ideally divided into two major chapters: Childhood in Ukraine, Salvation and Sport. The title have a double meaning: the "difficul parts" of her life and, to her "hard parts," like the carbon and metal prosthetics that allowed her to do sports.
