Module 2: ProjectSight
Description
This section guides Project Managers through utilizing ProjectSight’s core modules to drive daily document control, oversee submittals and RFIs, and track critical field data from the job site.
Module 2
Document Control (RFIs & Submittals)
Core Workflows:
- Processing RFIs: When an issue arises on site, log a Request for Information (RFI). Always link the record directly to the specific contract drawing sheet, drop a location pin, and explicitly assign the "Ball-in-Court" (BIC) to the external Architect or Engineer with a contract-compliant due date.
- Managing Submittals: Keep long-lead items (like control panels or gateways) moving. Upload the submittal package, track its route from the subcontractor through your internal review, and forward it to the consultant for final approval. Use the "Required on Site" date to flag items threatening the critical path.
Pt 1 of Project Sight
- This section covers how to manage contract communication to protect the project from scope creep and long-lead material delays.
Module 2
Core Workflows:
Field Management (Daily Logs & Field Issues)
- Reviewing Daily Logs: Regularly monitor the field team's daily entries. Check for accurate headcounts to verify future subcontractor invoices, and ensure weather disruptions (such as high winds halting a crane lift) are formally documented to back up future schedule extension requests.
- Tracking Field Issues: When out-of-scope issues happen on site, log them immediately as a "Field Issue" with descriptions and photos. ProjectSight allows you to convert these validated field issues directly into Potential Change Orders (PCOs) so no extra field labor is lost or forgotten.
Pt 2 of Project Sight
- This section bridges the gap between physical site progress and administrative documentation.
Module 2
Core Workflows:
Project Closeout & Quality Assurance (Punch Lists & Handover)
- Executing Punch Lists: Walk the site and assign punch items directly to the responsible subcontractor using the mobile application. Require subcontractors to upload "Before" and "After" photos directly to the item before they can mark it complete.
- Compiling Handover Packages: Consolidate all field drawing redlines into the master drawings folder. Export a clean, searchable historical record of all closed RFIs, approved submittals, and operation manuals to turn over to the building owner.
Pt 3 of Project Sight
- This section focuses on the final execution steps required to successfully turn over the project and secure customer sign-off.
