ADA
Protecion for every person with a disability from discrimination in school, the workplace and everyday life.
Who Qualifies?
Under IDEA
Children ages 3-21 with one or more of the 13 categories of disabilities.
Under 504's
Children & adults in school K-college with a physical or mental impairment.
Under ADA
Any person who has a physical or mental impairment.

Read the student's IEP; understand the student's disability.

Adapt the curriculum to meet student needs.

Teachers should ensure that any classwork should be accessable by providing modifications to meet student needs.
Teachers should include movement breaks for students during class periods.

Teachers should ensure extended time is given for assignments and assessments.
Teachers should ensure preferential seating arrrangements are made.
