POLLUTION: in general
Pollution means contamination of the environment.There are different types of Pollution:
- water pollution;
- noise pollution;
- light pollution;
- land pollution.
Pollution is connected to these Agenda 2030 goals: 3, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
We can help reduce pollution by:
- recycling paper, plastic, and glass
- using less plastic
- saving water and electricity
- walking, cycling, or using public transport
- keeping parks, streets, and beaches clean
REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
REDUCE: use less and create less waste REUSE: use things again RECYCLE: transform waste into new materials
TO SUM UP
Pollution can affect the air, water, and earth. Today many people try to live in an eco-friendly way. Using public transport helps reduce pollution and traffic. Pollution causes global warming and climate change. Natural disasters like a tsunami, an earthquake, a volcanic eruption can damage the environment. Since the Industrial Revolution, pollution has increased a lot. Deforestation and the increase in cemented spaces also damage nature and animals.
ALTERNATIVE POWER
Solar power uses energy from the sun with solar panels. It reduces air pollution and saves fossil fuels. - Wind power uses wind turbines to produce electricity. It is clean and renewable. - Electric power can be used for electric cars and machines. It helps reduce pollution from petrol and diesel. - Hydroelectric power uses moving water from rivers or dams to make electricity. It produces clean energy without smoke.
MY OPINION
Our planet is in danger because of pollution. The air, water, and earth are becoming dirty. Climate change causes flooding and other problems. I think we must protect the environment. We can recycle, use public transport, and choose eco-friendly energy like solar and wind power. Small actions can make a big difference. We must help the Earth today for a better future.
