CRACK! – Rescue Mission: Help the Penguin

Now, the penguin needs our help again. It travelled to different places and faced many problems. You must solve 5 missions to save him:

• Remember where it travelled and what problems it faced.
• Connect the experiments we did with climate change phenomena.
• Match causes with consequences.
• Program the penguin's path through a maze.
• Find the final code and unlock the exit.

Each correct answer gives you a piece of the key. Only by working together will you complete the mission. Are you ready? Let's start!

It all started with a book. In April, as part of the eTwinning project SUSTAIN WELL, Group 1 (Kokkinochoma Primary School - Grades 3 & 4, Kampia Primary School - Grades 5 & 6, and 9th Primary School of Mytilene - Class A1) read the Greek edition of the book titled "Crack!" (Seou Lee). Through its silent narration and illustrations, we discovered the story of a penguin whose home is melting because of climate change. Our thematic unit was called "Us and our Planet – Caring for Our Planet: Nature, Life, and Climate" and was dedicated to the International Day of Climate Action (October 24) .

Dear friends, I am in Hawaii! It is soooo beautiful here! I saw volcanoes, colorful fish, and big waves. I also learned to dance hula and wore a flower necklace. I was very happy! But now I'm worried... The ocean is getting warmer and the coral reefs are dying. Many sea animals lose their homes. Stronger storms and hurricanes are hitting the islands! The beaches are disappearing because sea levels are rising. Some islands may sink underwater, and that is VERY BAD! People may become climate refugees. And my ice cap back home has almost COMPLETELY MELTED! My family WON'T SURVIVE WITHOUT IT! We might disappear... We might go extinct... PLEASE DON'T FORGET US!!!
