Hoggar Mountains
The Hoggar Mountains are a highland region in the central Sahara in southern Algeria, along the Tropic of Cancer, and cover an area of approximately 550,000 km².
Ethiopian Highlands
The Ethiopian Highlands is a rugged mass of mountains extending from Ethiopia to Eritrea in Northeast Africa. It forms the largest continuous area of its elevation in the continent, with little of its surface falling below 1,500 m, while the summits reach heights of up to 4,550 m.
Atlas Mountains
The Atlas Mountains extend some 2,500km across northwestern Africa, spanning Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, separating the Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline from the Sahara Desert.
Tibesti Mountains
The Tibesti Mountains are a mountain range in the central Sahara, primarily located in the extreme north of Chad, with a small portion located in southern Libya. The highest peak in the range, Emi Koussi, lies to the south at a height of 3,415 meters and is the highest point in both Chad and the Sahara
Adamawa Mountains
The Adamawa Plateau is a plateau region in west-central Africa stretching from south-eastern Nigeria through north-central Cameroon to the Central African Republic.The part of the plateau that lies in Nigeria is more popularly known as Gotel Mountains
Rwenzori Mountains
The Rwenzori are a range of mountains in eastern equatorial Africa, located on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The highest peak of the Ruwenzori reaches 5,109 metres, and the range's upper regions are permanently snow-capped and glaciated.
Drakensberg
The Drakensberg is the eastern portion of the Great Escarpment, which encloses the central Southern African plateau. The Great Escarpment reaches its greatest elevation – 2,000 to 3,482 metres within the border region of South Africa and Lesotho.
