Ein Sof

“Ein Sof, or Eyn Sof, Hebrew: in Kabbalah, is understood as God prior to any self-manifestation in the production of any spiritual realm, probably derived from Ibn Gabirol's term, “the Endless One” (she-en lo tiklah). Ein Sof may be translated as “unending, (there is) no end, or infinity.”

Seal of Solomon

The essence of the seal of Solomon is the combination of combining two triangles. The facing upper one is the physical and psychological powers of man. In kabbala this is the world of asiyah and yetzira. The downward triangle is the world of the soul and the divine world.

Nada Brahma

At its heart, nada brahma is the Sanskrit teaching that the universe is not merely filled with sound — it is sound."

M - Unconscious State

The second largest curve in the Om symbol signifies the M and denotes the state of deep sleep- sushupti or the unconscious state. This is a state where the sleeper desires nothing nor beholds any dream. This state is linked to the transformer, Shiva.

The Wheel of Dharma

"The Buddha was the one who "turned the wheel of the dharma" and thus the wheel symbol is the Dharmachakra, or "wheel of law." The Tibetan term for this symbol, "chos kyi'khor lo," means "the wheel of transformation." -Nitin Kumar

Pneuma

Octaves & the Elements

Ruach Elohim

U - Dreaming State

U is signified by the middle curve of the Om symbol. The U symbolizes the dream state (Swapna or Taijasa), an inward state where the mind creates its own world from inner thoughts and impressions. It is linked to preservation (Vishnu).

Vowels

Shabda Brahma

Pure Consciousness

The dot (Bindu) at the top represents the fourth state (Turiya), or pure consciousness. This absolute, peaceful state transcends the other three and is the ultimate aim of spiritual practice.

Hamsa Bird

Chi

Aum - Om

Veil of Illusion

The semi-circle separating the dot from the curves represents Maya, the veil of illusion that prevents us from realizing this highest state of pure consciousness. The fact that the semi-circle does not touch the dot means that the absolute state is untouched by this illusion.

A - Waking State

The large lower curve of the symbol Om signifies the A in A-U-M and represents the waking state (Jagrat or Vaishvanara), where consciousness is directed outward through the senses, connecting us to the physical world. It is associated with creation (Brahma).

Pashyanti - Mental Sound

"The second stage of sound, which has less frequency and is more gross than para, is pashyanti. It is a sound which cannot be heard, but it can be seen. Pashyanti in Sanskrit means ‘that which can be seen or visualized’. The ancient scriptures maintain that sound can also be perceived. How does one see a sound? Silence

Seven String Lyre

Mantras
