01

Why is UMAE a Remote-Friendly Workplace?

It works for our students, who need flexible education options as they balance family, work and other responsibilities. It also works for our team members, who have shown that those in many roles can meet the needs of our students without commuting to an office every day. It works for our partners, who continue to share that UMAE is providing them with qualified and knowledgeable workers who are ready to meet the needs of the communities they serve.

01

Flexibility works for UMAE!

Our workforce allows us to extend the Ripple Effect of Care to places we may not otherwise have reached. We have team members across the country, ready to work in a compliant and ethical way to help our students and learners accomplish their goals. How we accomplish our mission has changed over time to best meet the needs of our learners and you, the team members who prepare them for success.

Handbook Policies

At UMAE, our policies state that you cannot conduct non-UMAE work using UMAE resources, and that you cannot hold an outside job if the non-UMAE work presents a conflict of interest or interferes with your ability to perform your UMAE work effectively. For special consideration to allow you to use a UMAE device after hours for personal reasons (e.g., continuing your education), you must also receive prior approval.

Module 2

Handbook Policy

Team members are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest to UMAE so that they can be evaluated. Please see Policy 3.7 (Conflicts of Interest) in the Team Member Handbook for more details.

Team Members are also required to disclose other jobs held while employed by UMAE. Please see Policy 3.8 (Outside Employment and Conflicts of Commitment) in the Team Member Handbook for more details. Contact People Operations at pcops@ultimatemedical.edu for more information.

UMAE’s policies require you to notify our People Operations team if/when you are living with another UMAE team member or a family member of another UMAE team member. Please see Policy 3.9 (Non-Fraternization with Other Team Members) in the Team Member Handbook for more details. To initiate a request email People Operations at pcops@ultimatemedical.edu.

We are Better Together!

While we may not share the same space, we must always remember that we share the same mission. We are here because people have entrusted us with their dreams: their dreams of a career in healthcare, their dreams of a better life for future generations, and their dreams that the circumstances they encounter today do not have to determine their outcomes for tomorrow. We're all in this together.

What are our emergency plans?

Team Member Relocation and Performing Work from Places Other Than the Approved Work Location Policy

Policy 2.12 in the Team Member Handbook covers UMAE’s rules and procedures for any team member looking to relocate or perform work from a location other than the location that has been previously approved by UMAE for that team member. Many restrictions at the state and even municipal level are based on what specific tasks a team member will undertake while at that location. Because of this, upon request, each position and request requires an individual analysis by the People Operations team.

To initiate a request to relocate, travel, or otherwise work from a different location, email People Operations at PeopleOps@Vocate.org.
