REFLECTION
These activities help students improve both reading comprehension and language skills through literature in a motivating and meaningful way. Using The Gruffalo encourages students to develop vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and interaction in English while enjoying an authentic story.
In addition, the use of games, illustrations, group work, and creative tasks increases students’ motivation and participation. Although some challenges may appear, such as different language levels or classroom management during interactive activities, visual support, scaffolding, collaboration, and clear instructions can help ensure successful learning in the EFL classroom.
The TAVI activity promotes critical thinking and comprehension by helping students explore the characters, themes, and moral of the story through discussion and collaborative work. Meanwhile, the TALO activity focuses on language structures in context, allowing students to practise adjectives and descriptive expressions in a creative and communicative way.
