Some snow monkeys live near these hot springs. In winter, they sit in the warm water to keep warm. Japan has many different animals. Some common animals are snow monkeys, deer, flying squirrels, wild cats and bears. There are about 160 kinds of wild animals, 700 kinds of birds, and about 32,000 kinds of insects in Japan.
