Bergson realiza una distinción fundamental entre dos maneras de entender y percibir el tiempo:
EL TIEMPO DEL RELOJ (Tiempo Exterior): Es el tiempo de la ciencia y es un tiempo sin memoria. EL TIEMPO DE LA CONCIENCIA (Tiempo Interior): Aquí la memoria se convierte en protagonista.
EL TIEMPO EN NUESTRA ÉPOCA
- Vivimos en una época profundamente marcada por el "tiempo exterior";
- El objetivo es volver a ser "blandos";
- La verdadera esencia reside en nuestra memoria y en la capadidad de fluir.
