About Painted Words
We will learn different sentence structures and literacy techniques for creative writing.
Our writing programmes are called Write and Shine and the lessons are grouped together in 12 week blocks.
Our focus is writing a narrative with an engaging setting and chracter description.
Lesson format
Example: Dashes for parenthesis
Example: Look at the picture. What do you think happened before and after?
Learning chunk 1 - we learn about either a literary or grammar technique.
Learn a new word and begin with a creative starter.
Example: Using personification to describe nature
Example: 1st sentence begins with a verb. 2nd sentence has 3 words.
Learning chunk 2 - we learn about either a literary or grammar technique.
GO SLOW - we follow a structure to craft a short text with love and attention.

Sentence 3: A fanfare of colour engulfs the sky.
Sentence 4: Must start with a subordinate clause
Sentence 4: As the day draws to an end, the majestic warship makes her final journey.
Sentence 5: Must start with an expanded noun phrase
Sentence 6: Must be a simple sentence
Sentence 5: Blackened smoke continues to trail into the sky, but a modern world is advancing gradually.
