Il racconto umoristico è un testo narrativo, di solito breve, che racconta storie con lo scopo di far divertire e riflettere i lettori.
A humorous story is a narrative text, usually short, that tells stories with the aim of entertaining readers and making them reflect.
Attenzione a non confonderlo con il racconto comico.
Be careful not to confuse it with the comic tale.

Personaggi
I protagonisti sono spesso persone comuni che, troppo ingenue o distratte, combinano guai o si trovano in situazioni buffe. Possiamo incontrare anche personaggi di fantasia, descritti apposta per far divertire.
Characters
The characters are often ordinary people who are a bit naive or distracted and get into funny trouble. We can also find imaginary characters created to make people laugh.
Tempo e luogo
I luoghi sono spesso realistici e quotidiani, cioè tipici della vita di ogni giorno, ma possono anche essere di fantasia.
Il racconto umoristico può essere ambientato nel passato, nel presente o nel futuro.
Time and place
The places are often realistic and part everyday life, but they can also be imaginary.
The humorous story can be set in the past, present or future.

Il linguaggio
Il linguaggio del racconto umoristico è fatto di esagerazioni, parole che di solito non si usano o anche inventate. Ovviamente ci sono le battute di spirito e i giochi di parole che creano e alimentano situazioni surreali ed equivoci.
TotòIn Oriente non è che le donne sono calde calde, e non sono nemmeno fredde fredde. Sono a bagnomaria.
The language
The language in humorous stories often usesexaggerations, unusual or invented word,jokes, and funny expression to create funny situations and misunderstandings. Totò: In the East, women aren't hot, hot, nor are they cold, cold. They're in a double boiler.
