The Sound of Money A poor man was very hungry. He held his bread over a pot of hot food to catch the smell. The shop owner saw him and said, "You must pay for that smell!" Nasreddin Hodja was there and heard them. He took some coins from his pocket and shook them near the owner's ear. The coins made a clink sound. "What are you doing?" asked the owner. Hodja smiled and said, "I have paid you. If you sell the smell of food, you get paid with the sound of money".
