Power conversion for the world’s first commercialized hydrogen fuel cell power pack
To achieve high-efficiency and high-energy density in the power delivery network, Vicor PRM™ regulators support the up to 74V open-circuit voltage (OCV) of the hydrogen fuel cell stack and deliver a stable voltage regulation to 48V. In the drone’s rotor-side PDN, two PRM regulators are configured in parallel to supply the 12A required by the rotors. The digital controller board in the stack uses a lower-power PRM followed by a 48V to 12V ZVS buck regulator.
Explore how modular power delivery networks are helping drones to fly for up to 2 hours
High density power conversion
Power modules optimized for 48V power delivery
The Vicor 48V ecosystem of high-performance power modules provide complete power delivery networks to convert high voltage to a 48V bus, power downstream loads, and eases the transition with modules to power legacy 12V loads. Power modules help:
- Reduce the size and weight of power systems
- Enable the efficiency gains of a 48V bus
- Quickly implement tested and reliable solutions
