Safe Tech Consumption in a Digital World
This presentation equips educators with practical strategies for teaching students to navigate technology safely, responsibly, and purposefully, using the relatable metaphor of the internet as a “kitchen” filled with both opportunities and risks. Participants will explore digital citizenship, mindful tech habits, and leadership practices while leveraging resources from Common Sense Education to help students build healthy, balanced relationships with technology.
AI: From Fear to Inspiration
This session will introduce staff to the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential to enhance both student learning experiences and teacher productivity. Through this session, staff will have the opportunity to interact with AI and explore how AI can be incorporated into their teaching practices. By the end of the session, participants will gain practical ideas and strategies for effectively integrating AI into their teaching methods.
AI for Accessibility: Using AI to Increase Access
Using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a lens, we will learn and practice using a variety of AI tools to make your general curriculum more accessible for students. AI tools can increase the efficiency with which we generate, level or translate text and make content more relevant for our students. AI can also help with scaffolding, assessment creation and creating high interest content and so much more. Bring some of your content with you and see how you might make your content more accessible for your students.
Thoughtful Tech Integration: Leveraging Technology for Learning
Explore what meaningful technology integration looks like in today’s classrooms through authentic examples and practical models that enhance student learning rather than simply digitize tasks. Participants will examine strategies for using technology with purpose, then apply those ideas by redesigning an existing lesson or creating a new learning experience that integrates technology in thoughtful, engaging, and instructionally sound ways.
Cybersecurity: Online Safety Tools and Resources
This engaging professional development session explores how gamification can make cybersecurity concepts accessible, memorable, and relevant for students. Participants will discover interactive strategies, classroom-ready activities, and practical tools for teaching digital safety, password security, and responsible online behavior through immersive, game-based learning.
Educational Tech Integration vs. Tech Use
In this engaging session, educators will explore various technology integration frameworks (SAMR, TPACK, Triple E) to assess and enhance their use of digital tools in the classroom. By evaluating current practices and identifying areas for growth, participants will leave equipped with strategies to level up their tech integration and maximize student engagement and learning outcomes. Whether you're a tech newbie or a digital pro, this session will help you take your tech game to the next level!
