Another narrative asserts that Valentine's Day got its name from Saint Valentine of Terni, a prisoner of Emperor Claudius II who sent the first Valentine's Day card to the daughter of his jailor, signed "From your Valentine." This is still popular in love notes today! Some people even believe that before Saint Valentine was executed, he healed the sight and vision of the girl he loved. Regardless of which origin story you choose to believe, all of the legends emphasize heroic acts on of true love and affection.
The actual Valentine's Day holiday was established in mid-February as a day of feast in Rome, in conjunction with the pagan celebration known as Lupercalia.

Reading Comprehension
Read the text below aloud.
Lupercalia was a festival that honored Roman gods, agricultural abundance, and the approach of Spring. One tradition during the festival required all of the young women to put their names in a container so that the city's young could draw names and be matched with a woman for the year. Oftentimes, these pairings led to marriage.
Today, we celebrate sweeping romance and appreciation for friends and family on February 14th. It is a special day for people in the United States and all around the world as we put a little extra effort into spreading kindness (and kisses)! This Valentine's Day, be sure to let your favorite people know how much they mean to you, and eat some yummy chocolate too!
