Transaction Lifecycle

This is when funds are sent to the delivery partner for payout to the recipient. When issues occur, agents may need to update transaction states using backend tools.
• Available for Pick Up - "The transaction has been sent to the selected pick-up location and is ready for pay-out." • Completed - "Funds have been either deposited into a beneficiary's account, delivered or picked up." • Pending Partner Response - "The transaction is currently being processed by our delivery provider and we are waiting for confirmation." • Partner in Process - "The partner experienced an issue while processing the transaction." • Partner Review - "The transaction is currently on hold with the provider for a compliance review." • User Data Error / Waiting for Customer - "The transaction was rejected by the provider because the sender entered invalid or incomplete details for the receiver." • Waiting for Receiver - "The transaction is currently on hold by our partner bank as they review the recipient's KYC information." • Partner Down - "When Remitly receives an advisory from a partner regarding system downtime, scheduled maintenance or a technical issue."
• System in Process - "The transaction is currently in an 'error' state caused by a system or connectivity issue" (can occur at various stages)
The process of reviewing and verifying the transaction for fraud and policy compliance. This involves:
• In Review - "Transactions or Accounts placed under review are flagged based on Remitly internal policies and fraud detection rules... handled by the Customer Protection Team (CPT)" (includes Compliance/Policy Review, EKYC, Risk Review, KYC Review)• Risk Declined - The transaction which was under review due to policy and fraud-related checks, was declined by Remitly's Customer Protection Team (CPT).
The process of collecting payment from the customer. This involves:
• Pending Funds or Pending ACH - "The transaction is still in process because the customer selected an economy delivery. This option typically takes 3 to 5 business days."• Hardfailed - "The transaction has failed and cannot be resubmitted. This usually happens because the payment was unsuccessful" (includes: blocked by issuing bank, failed card authentication, insufficient funds)
