Igneous Rocks are formed by the cooling of molten rock.

Metamorphic Rocks are formed by pre-existing rocks that are transformed by heat or pressure.

Sedimentary Rocks are formed by small rock pieces being transported in rivers and laid down in layers.

Driven by plate tectonics and weather, rocks melt into magma, erode into sediment, or experience intense heat and pressure to change form.
