About Me
My Name is Malvenia, and
I have spent my career helping people navigate major life changes such as returning to school, advancing their careers, or assuming leadership roles. For over 18 years in higher education, I have supported adult learners through complex admissions processes and academic journeys. Studying Instructional Design and Technology reshaped my approach to creating learning experiences. I am passionate about designing tools and environments that present information clearly, engagingly, and accessibly. My goal is to develop learning experiences that not only inform but also support and empower busy professionals managing multiple responsibilities.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Kennesaw State University as a nontraditional student, working full-time and actively participating in campus programs. This experience strengthened my commitment to service and deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by adult learners. I later pursued a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Capella University, further aligning my education with my passion for creating meaningful impact. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have intentionally sought out programs and roles that focus on helping others, improving access, and supporting personal and professional growth. Today, I am continuing that path through my studies in Instructional Design and Technology, where I am expanding my ability to design thoughtful, learner-centered experiences that empower individuals and improve outcomes.

Instructional Design Journey
Theories & Evolution
This timeline shows how learning models moved from behaviorist, structured approaches to more learner-centered ones like cognitive, constructivist, and connectivist theories. As technology advanced, instructional design began to emphasize collaboration, real-world use, and digital learning spaces, which influence how I create engaging and effective learning experiences today.
