Anthropogenic influences like road placement and density along with heavy vehicular traffic heavily affect the population dynamics in the wildlife communities in florida. The use of roads and cars impact the locomotion of wildlife like black bears, panthers, and several medium and small mammals. We also put out millions of tons of chemicals, weather that be from fertilizers or pesticides, these chemicals seep into the runoff in waterways and can poison wildlife that drinks from them.
We see similar climate and environmental impacts in several southern US states on the coast of the Gulf and the Atlantic Ocean. As the climate continues to warm, ocean levels rise and weather patterns like rain and droughts change, causing certain crops to be unable to thrive and a change in natural disaster patterns. Other changes like increased flooding can lead to disease spread and death, along with damages to the ecosystem that are sometimes unrepairable.

As a community we are working towards a change in infrastructure, which would keep buildings away from our wetlands and preserve natural spaces, while compacting the commercial and residential areas to help decrease the need for vehicle transportation and release less carbon into the atmosphere. We are also trying to make the switch from burning fuels for electricity to focusing more on solar power and renewable energy in attempt to save resources and lessen the impact on the planet.
