Module 1 Overview

Begin by setting up your development environment and exploring the key components of an IDE. You will learn how to navigate the interface, understand essential features, and configure settings to create an efficient and personalized workspace for coding and data analysis.

Module 2 Overview

Learn to create reproducible documents that seamlessly combine code, output, and narrative. You will apply formatting techniques to organize your work and use version control tools like GitHub to track changes, manage revisions, and share your projects.

Module 3 Overview

This module focuses on using visualizations to explore and communicate patterns in data. You will work with common graph types and begin thinking about how to present information in ways that are accurate, clear, and meaningful.

Module 8-14 Overview

Modules 8–14 build on your earlier coding and data skills by moving into more advanced ways of working with data, drawing conclusions, and communicating results. In these modules, you will work with external data sources, explore simulation and inference, develop models for explanation and prediction, locate appropriate datasets, and create dashboards that bring analysis and communication together in a meaningful way.

Module 6 Overview

This module centers on identifying and fixing common data problems that can affect analysis. You will work through messy or unclear datasets and make decisions that improve data quality while reflecting on how those decisions shape your results.

Module 5 Overview

This module connects analysis to communication by showing how to turn your work into a polished presentation. You will focus on presenting findings clearly and using formatting choices that help your audience understand the story your data tells.

We process visual content up to 60,000 times faster than text. That's why visual communication is more effective. Our brain is biologically prepared to process visual content. Almost 50% of our brain is involved in processing visual stimuli. We are in the era of digital information explosion.

We better grasp visual content. Visual content is associated with cognitive and psychological mechanisms. Things enter through the eyes; the first image is what counts. We associate visual content with emotions. Our brain is prepared to consume visual content.

90% of the information we process comes through sight

Module 7 Overview

This module introduces databases as a powerful way to store, organize, and manage larger sets of information. You will explore why databases are useful and how they support efficient access to structured data for analysis.

Module 4 Overview

This module introduces tidy data and the importance of organizing datasets into a structure that supports efficient analysis. You will practice reshaping data so that it can be more easily explored, visualized, and used in later steps of the workflow.
