Multi-Factor Authentication adds an extra step to confirm it’s really you logging in. After your password, you’ll receive a push notification, text code, or phone call.
Two MFA systems: • CUNYfirst → firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu (DUO, text, or call) • Microsoft 365/MyHunter → NetID@myhunter.cuny.edu (Microsoft Authenticator) Why delays happen: New device or location, app not installed, notifications off, too many attempts, or system traffic. “Try again later” usually means a temporary timeout.
