Core Quest
An Earth’s Layers Adventure
Location: A deep underground journey through the crust, mantle, and core of the Earth
Start
You arrive at a massive drilling site where a tunnel leads deep beneath the Earth’s surface. Sensors show different layers below, each with unique conditions. A message from Ari Raider comes through: Adventurer, the Professor has hidden a specimen deep within the Earth. To recover it, you must understand the layers of our planet and what makes each one different. The deeper you go, the more extreme it becomes.
Your mission is to outsmart the Professor and recover the missing specimen. To succeed, you must explore the Earth’s layers and understand their structure and properties. Discover, identify, and collect them all.
KNOWLEDGE Earth is made up of layers: crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core The crust is the thin outer layer where we live The mantle is the thickest layer and is made of hot, flowing rock The outer core is liquid and made mostly of metal The inner core is solid and extremely hot
You begin at the surface of the Earth. Mountains, valleys, and oceans stretch around you. A container is hidden beneath the ground. To move forward, you must understand the outermost layer of the Earth.
The ground shifts as the container unlocks. You’ve explored the crust, the layer we live on. But the journey goes deeper.
You descend into the mantle where heat increases and rock slowly moves like a thick liquid. Another container is embedded in the glowing rock. To continue, you must understand how the mantle behaves.
The chamber pulses with heat as the container unlocks. You’ve seen the movement beneath the surface. But deeper still lies the core.
You reach the deepest part of your journey. The heat is intense, and the materials here are unlike anything above. At the center, a final container waits. To complete your mission, you must understand the Earth’s core.
One by one, the locks release. The container begins to open. Inside, the specimen is revealed. You’ve done it. You’ve uncovered the structure of the Earth itself. Stand by, adventurer. Identification in progress.
GREAT JOB, ADVENTURER You’ve recovered Hematite! Continue your mission to discover, identify, and collect them all by completing more adventures. The rarest specimens are hidden in real digs, waiting for true adventurers to find them at ExcavatingAdventures.com.
