A Soil Formation Adventure
Location: A layered ground zone with forest floors, rocky surfaces, and underground soil horizons

Start

You arrive at a rich landscape where plants grow in thick soil and rocks slowly break apart over time. Beneath your feet, layers of soil stretch deep into the ground. A message from Ari Raider comes through: Adventurer, the Professor has hidden a specimen within these soil layers. To recover it, you must understand how soil forms and what it is made of. Look closely. The ground holds more than meets the eye.

Your mission is to outsmart the Professor and recover the missing specimen. To succeed, you must explore how soil forms from rock and organic material over time. Discover, identify, and collect them all.

Mission Knowledge (Facts) Soil forms from weathered rock and organic matter Weathering breaks rocks into smaller pieces Organic matter comes from plants and animals Soil forms slowly over long periods of time Soil has different layers called horizons

You step into an area where rocks are slowly breaking apart. Cracks spread across their surfaces as wind, water, and temperature changes wear them down over time. A container is partially buried nearby. A series of challenges appears. To move forward, you must understand how rocks begin the process of becoming soil.

The ground shifts slightly as the container unlocks. Inside, you uncover the first clue. The process has begun. Rock is turning into something new. But soil is more than just broken rock. Move deeper, adventurer.

You move into a forest floor covered with leaves, roots, and decaying material. The ground is soft and rich with life. A second container is hidden beneath the surface. A new set of challenges appears. To continue, you must understand how living things help form soil.

The soil beneath you shifts as the container unlocks. Another piece of the puzzle is revealed. You now see how life contributes to soil. But one final piece remains. The layers below hold the full story.

You reach a deep section of ground where layers of soil are clearly visible. Each layer looks different, showing how soil forms over time. At the center, a final container waits. A series of final challenges appears. To complete your mission, you must understand how soil is structured.

One by one, the locks release. The container begins to open. Inside, the specimen is revealed. You’ve done it. You’ve uncovered how soil forms, layer by layer. Stand by, adventurer. Identification in progress.

GREAT JOB, ADVENTURER You’ve recovered Amethyst! Continue your mission to discover, identify, and collect them all by completing more adventures. The rarest specimens are hidden in real digs, waiting for true adventurers to find them at ExcavatingAdventures.com.
