En esta presentación, me veré obligado a contarles cómo llegué hasta aquí, cómo me veo a mí mismo, cómo me ven los demás y cómo ayudo a la comunidad, tanto en inglés como en español. Así que intenten no morir de aburrimiento.

Lead Climbing
I was thinking about what my will would be if I died climbing, and I was pretty sure it would be something like, “Dead Ezra would like for you all to use all of your money suing this funeral place” When I finally got to the first clip after what felt like minutes, but probably was only about 30 seconds, I clipped the first clip that I ever clipped on lead, which was of course, was with trembling hands. This keeped going on, me having to remind myself that there was only a 20% chance that I was going to die that day until I made it to the fifth clip. That is when my coach asked me to fall. And that was a perfect time to feel like I was going to faint. But I knew that if I fainted, that would just conclude to a worse fall. Which included me breaking open my skull and dying, also of which I had planned not to do for at least 20 years. So, with that in mind, I let go. This experience of mine, was awesome. It felt like I had just jumped off a 200 foot tall building, landed in a tree, forgot my whole entire life except for starting to fall, and then having all of my memories swept back at me like someone giving you your overdriven memory chip. A change in the meaning of life in one single, split second. I loved it.

Así que allí estaba yo: viendo a alguien intentarlo cincuenta veces, preparándome para ir yo, solo para que otro tipo se me adelantara y me ganara la pared. Una y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra vez.Podría simplemente haber corrido delante de ellos, pero no lo hice. Porque conocía mi deber —pero, por encima de todo, porque quería quedarme en la academia. Y así es como sirvo a la comunidad: me mantengo callado, paciente y aburriéndome.
