Urinary tract infection is caused by bacteria in the urine system. It happens when bacteria enter the urinary tract and multiply.

The process of this infection starts with the bacteria getting into the urine system and then growing and causing the infection. It usually starts in the bladder and if it isn’t being treated can go to the kidneys and gets more serious. Also, the urinary tract infection can cause inflammation and irritate the bladder which can lead to fever.

Sings and symptoms

• Burning when peeing
• Need to pee often
• Only a little urine comes out
• Fever
• Back pain
• Feeling tired

Cna intervention:

• Give plenty of water
• Help patient to the bathroom often
• Keep their private area clean
• Monitor temperature
• Report any symptom that doesn't seem usual
• Watch the urine color, smell and amount
