Carlos Freire Hidalgo is a civil engineer specializing in hydraulic engineering, smart cities, and sustainable urban development. He has experience in water management, public administration, and risk mitigation in Amazonian contexts. He was awarded a KOICA scholarship for graduate studies in the Republic of South Korea, as well as training scholarships from UNESCO, the Government of Singapore, the Government of the People’s Republic of China, and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). He was a guest speaker at the Songsan Global Cooperation Forum and is one of the founding members of an organization focused on STEM education and environmental sustainability. He participates in international cooperation and public management initiatives aimed at technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and strengthening resilience to climate change.

Rayner Eduardo Rojas Johanson holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (specializing in Occupational Risk Prevention). He is a Mining Safety Specialist and an Occupational Safety and Health Engineer, with more than 24 years of experience in comprehensive risk management, industrial safety, and emergency response in high-risk sectors, including mining, oil, manufacturing, technology, and pharmaceuticals. He is the Operations Manager at Rescue Tech Ecuador and a technical expert in audits of integrated management systems under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. He is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) and the International Mines Rescue Body (IMRB), where he serves as an international judge in mine rescue competitions. In the academic field, he is a graduate-level lecturer in mining safety and occupational health. He is the author of scientific publications on occupational risk management and mining safety regulation, including the article: “The Repeal of the Mining Safety Regulation in Light of Executive Decree 255 in Ecuador: A Legal and Practical Analysis” (Revista Conecta Libertad, 2025), in which he examines regulatory coherence and legal gaps within Ecuador’s occupational safety and health framework in mining. His research lines include comprehensive risk management, emergency response systems, mining safety regulation, industrial risk analysis, territorial resilience, and occupational risk management, with an emphasis on integrating regulatory and operational frameworks.

One of the central pillars of his work is biomimicry, conceived as an epistemological and methodological approach that integrates science, nature, technology, and society to design innovative solutions. From this perspective, he has promoted proposals for biomimetic gamification, bio-inspired educational innovation, and the development of educational resources and experiences focused on creativity, sustainability, and systems thinking. His contributions in this field have helped position biomimicry as a strategic pathway for rethinking education, entrepreneurship.

Doris Hernández Dukova is a PhD in Education with a specialization in organizational leadership and internationalization of higher education. She completed a postdoctoral program in International Education and holds a strong technical background as an electronic engineer with specializations in microelectronics and mobile telecommunications. Her multidisciplinary profile combines engineering, education, and global academic management. She has extensive experience as a professor, researcher, and academic leader in various universities, where she has contributed to teaching, curriculum development, and research projects. Throughout her career, she has led and coordinated numerous international cooperation initiatives, academic missions, and global training programs, promoting innovation in higher education. Doris is the founder and legal representative of the Colombo-Bulgarian Alliance, an organization dedicated to strengthening educational and cultural relations between countries. Her work focuses on curriculum internationalization, intercultural competence, leadership development, and quality assurance in education. She has organized international congresses, workshops, and academic exchanges across multiple countries, gaining recognition for her impact. Her contributions have earned her several national and international awards, highlighting her leadership, commitment, and influence in advancing global education and institutional collaboration.

Dr. José Miguel Álvarez-Suárez is a Full Professor in Food Science and Technology at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ). He obtained his Ph.D. in Food and Health from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italy), where he also completed his postdoctoral training in nutrition and aging. His research focuses on natural antioxidants, bee products, edible insects, and native Andean and Amazonian resources, integrating food chemistry, bioactivity, and nutrition for the development of functional foods. He has more than 130 indexed publications, an h-index of 50, and over 8,800 citations. He has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate, 2019–2021) and is ranked among the top 2% most cited scientists worldwide. He has participated in international projects funded by European programs such as FP7 and Horizon 2020, as well as in competitive national and international research calls. He has led projects in Ecuador focused on the valorization of natural resources with territorial and biocultural impact, and maintains active collaborations with institutions in more than 20 countries. He also serves as a project evaluator and editorial board member, consolidating a high-impact international scientific career and leadership in interdisciplinary research.
